JV Tournament Rules and Procedures

Tournament Rules and Procedures:

✓ Each JV team will play three games on Saturday, 1/13/18. Each game will consist of 20-minute halves with 5-minute half times.

 

✓ The Aggieland Classic JV tournament will be split up into 3 Bowls (Maroon Bowl, Green Bowl, and Purple Bowl). One team from each bowl will be crowned champion of their bowl at the end of the tournament.

          o Maroon Bowl: The teams in this bowl will be guaranteed 3 games. All these games will be played at Veterans                     Park (on Sailor Field). After all the games have been completed, the 1st placed team will be crowned the 2018                     Maroon Bowl Champion (determined by a 10-point system).

           o Green Bowl: The teams in this bowl will be guaranteed 3 games. All these games will be played at Stephen F                   Austin Middle School. After all the games have been completed, the 1st placed team will be crowned the 2018                     Green Bowl Champion (determined by a 10-point system).

           o Purple Bowl: The teams in this bowl will be guaranteed 3 games. All these games will be played at Veterans                     Park (on Soldier Field). After all the games have been completed, the 1st placed team will be crowned the 2018                   Purple Bowl Champion (determined by a 10-point system).

 

✓ Team listed first is the “Home” team: this team shall wear light jerseys and provide at least 3 game balls.

 

✓ All the fields are turf fields. A trainer will be available at Tiger Stadium and Cougar Stadium only.

Group Stage Point System:

✓ Scoring will be on a 10-point system:

          o Six (6) points for a win

          o Three (3) points for a tie

          o Zero (0) points for a loss 

          o One (1) point for a shutout

          o One (1) point for each goal scored (with a maximum of 3 per game).

 

Group Stage Tie-Breakers:

✓ Tie-Breaking Procedure if two teams have the same number of points:

          o Head to head game winner

          o Goal differential (+/-3 goals per game)

          o Fewest goals allowed

          o Most clean sheets

          o Penalty kicks taken at the end of the last game
