Varsity Tournament Rules and Procedures
✓ Each game is full length (40-minute halves for Varsity), unless inclement weather requires modifications (information would be communicated via email).
✓ The Aggieland Classic Varsity tournament will be split up into 3 Bowls (Aggie Bowl, Tiger Bowl, and Cougar Bowl). One team from each bowl will be crowned champion of their bowl at the end of the tournament.
o Aggie Bowl: The teams in this bowl will be guaranteed 3 games (1 game on Thursday, 1 on Friday, and 1 on
Saturday). After all the games have been completed, the 1st placed team will be crowned the 2018 Aggie Bowl Champion.
o Tiger Bowl: The teams in this bowl will be guaranteed 4 games (3 group games and 1 playoff game: 1 game on Thursday, 2 on Friday, and 1 on Saturday). The final placements in Tiger Bowl #1 and Tiger Bowl #2 will determine the opponents for the playoff game (1st placed team in Tiger Bowl #1 will play the 1st placed team in Tiger Bowl #2, and so on). The winner of the Championship game will be crowned the 2018 Tiger Bowl Champion. o Cougar Bowl: The teams in this bowl will be guaranteed 4 games (3 group games and 1 playoff game: 1 game on Thursday, 2 on Friday, and 1 on Saturday). The final placements in Cougar Bowl #1 and Cougar Bowl #2 will determine the opponents for the playoff game (1st placed team in Cougar Bowl #1 will play the 1st placed team in Cougar Bowl #2, and so on). The winner of the Championship game will be crowned the 2018 Cougar Bowl Champion.
✓ Team listed first is the “Home” team: this team shall wear light jerseys and provide at least 3 game balls.
✓ Filming areas are available at Tiger Stadium and Cougar Stadium and will be made available to all teams. Also, all fields are turf fields.
✓ A trainer will be available at Tiger Stadium and Cougar Stadium only.
Group Stage Point System:
✓ Scoring will be on a 10-point system:
o Six (6) points for a win
o Three (3) points for a tie
o Zero (0) points for a loss
o One (1) point for a shutout
o One (1) point for each goal scored (with a maximum of 3 per game).
Group Stage Tie-Breakers:
✓ Tie-Breaking Procedure if two teams have the same number of points:
o Head to head game winner
o Goal differential (+/-3 goals per game)
o Fewest goals allowed
o Most clean sheets
o Penalty kicks taken 15 minutes prior to kickoff
